SLOVENE RIVIERA WITH SALTWORKS AND HINTERLAND SECRETS

Early drive to the seaside area to visit jewels on the Slovene Meditarranean where the Venetian Republic has left several marks. Accompanied by local guide we will visit the mediaeval town Piran with its main square and narrow streets. We shall climb up to the town hill for marvelous view over the ramparts and open sea.

During lunch we will taste some local specialties and quality wine Refošk. Among seaside towns several clean beaches, botanical parks and reserves are created hand in hand with old saltfields Sečovlje. They are one of the few where salt is still produced in a traditional way, as well as a wetland of international importance and a breeding place for water birds.

After visiting the park a short coffee break in a famous seaside resort Portorož is provided. In hinterland we will taste olive oil with local bread, dinner will be served in a traditional inn with a view over Istra and Adriatic sea.
